Think of the shopping cart the same way
you would a shopping cart in a store. You can put items
in and take them back out. You can fill your cart,
change your mind, and then leave the store.
Nothing is final until you say so. You
can even go through the check-out line, have your order
rung up, and at the last minute say, "Whoops,
sorry!, no check-book!"
Our cart is the same. You can change
your mind as much as you want. Until you push that final
button, you haven't set your order in stone.
Our cart uses cookies, but if you don't
like them, you don't have to accept them and the cart
will still work. See the Cookies page for more information about our
cookies.
Let's Walk
Through The Ordering Process:
On each
book's individual page are four controls
(1)
There is a button in
the right-hand column that says
Pressing that button will add 1 copy
of that book to your cart.

If you want more than 1 copy, first change the
quantity in the quantity box (Qty:
)
and then press
(You can also change the
quantity later in the shopping cart itself.)

(4) Also
on the individual pages is a link to see what
is in your cart and another to go to the
"checkout". They are above the
book's description on the blue bar:

You can
add a book to your cart and then go look at other books
and add them to your cart also.
You can add a couple, delete one, add another, and so
on.
When you first add a book to
the cart, you will be asked to choose your
shipping country. This is the country that you
want your order to be shipped to. This will
allow us to show you the shipping options for
that country.
On the shopping
cart page itself are 7 controls and 3 tables:
In the first
table are the books you have added to your cart
(1) &
(2)
To change the quantity of a book, change the
quantity box:
( Qty:
) and then press
(3)
To completely remove a book from your cart,
press
(4)
To continue shopping, press the Continue Shopping link at
the very bottom of the page.
(5)
To see the information again about any other
book in your cart, click on it's title: A+
Exam Prep W/CD. That
will open the book's page in a new window.
In the second
table is the sub-total of the books currently in your
cart.
In the third table is
shipping information.
Later in the ordering process, you will be
able to choose which method of shipping you want. If you
feel that the shipping charge is too high, you can still
cancel, and your personal information will not be saved.
At the bottom
are 2 buttons:

takes you to our secure server, where your
personal and credit card information is
encrypted. This is like getting in the
check-out line.
(7)
will completely empty your cart.
Now you
will fill in your customer and payment information
You can still make changes to
your cart at this point.
First, fill in
your customer information: Name, Address, City, Phone, Email,
etc. You must fill in the fields marked with
an (*)
asterisk.
Next, fill in
your payment information.
Click the radio button ()
by your choice of payment.
If paying by Visa or
Mastercard, fill in your number and
expiration date.
If paying by check or money order, you might
want to print this page and mail it in.
If paying by Gift Certificate, fill the
number in here. Gift Certificate amounts are
deducted manually.
If paying thru Paypal, choose
that option, and you will temporarily leave
the site to go to the Paypal site. After
making your payment, using your Paypal
account, you will be returned to Computer
Books Online.
When you are ready,
press
You can also still empty your cart or return
to shopping.
Look
everything over and make sure it is correct.
Choose a
shipping method - either Priority
Mail or Media Mail for US delivery, and
Global Priority (where available), Airmail,
or Economy for International orders.
This is it!
Press
and your order will be magically transported
securely from your browser to us. Isn't
technology wonderful! Of course there
is still the "Chicken Exit" at the
bottom of the page (Click

Last
but not least
The confirmation page
simply says Thank You and gives you your
order number. You should write this number
down or print the page and save it. You can
also print it and mail it in with your check
or money order.
You will also receive
an order confirmation letter by e-mail. This
could also be printed to send with a check
or money order.
