GOOGLE HAS CHANGED their webmaster guidelines by removing these suggestions:
1. Have other relevant sites link to yours.
2. Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.

Google’s Knol – Share Your Knowledge

Google is starting a program called Knol – which is short for a Knowledge unit. They say it is Wikipedia-like, in that readers can add or edit content, but my first impression of Knol was that it is Squidoo-like.
